26 Oct THE CARE OF THE VINEYARD WITH NATURAL PRODUCTS
Taking care of the vineyard with only natural products is possible, not only for fertilization, but also as regards the natural defenses of plants against attacks of fungal diseases and pests.
First of all it is good to know that the vine, belonging to the Vitaceae family, prefers a mild and sunny climate. Even if moderate ventilation, it can already be to the benefit of the vine, as the right ventilation reduces the risk of fungal diseases.
Soil and fertilization
Regarding the ideal type of soil, it is important that there is no water stagnation and that the pH is neither too acidic nor alkaline. Fertilization can be done with natural products such as compost, manure, always taking care not to overdo it. In fact, excessive fertilization could lead to drawbacks such as:
– Excessive vegetative growth that shades the bunches.
-More chance of the onset of fungal diseases.
– Lower sugar content in the berries, despite the abundant production.
Fertilization of the vineyard with natural products
For the care of the vineyard with natural products, it can be helpful to integrate fertility with the use of Symbhioethical ReGrow, an organic product, which thanks to its formulation based on mycorrhizae and microorganisms, helps to give balance to the soil, so that the all natural.
Defense of the vineyard with natural products
It is also possible to strengthen the natural defenses of the vine by using natural products. In our strategy we recommend using Symbioethical COPPER with 10% copper and boron in ionic form (35 ml of product to be dissolved in 10 liters of water, every 7 days and after rain), in association with Symbioethical PROPOLIS (25 ml of product to be dissolved in 10 liters of water, every 7 days and after rain). The first product, formulated based on copper and boron, is soluble in an ionic form such as to ensure better assimilability and bioavailability of the element to the plant and at the same time has the function of increasing its tolerance to environmental stress. Unlike common copper-based products, which nowadays have more and more restrictions, Symbioethical COPPER allows for greater yield with effectiveness already at low dosages. Symbioethical PROPOLIS is a product for botanical use based on propolis and rich in flavones, flavonoids, vitamins and trace elements, it is a valid enhancer of the natural defenses of plants when used preventively.
Fungal diseases
These two products, given in a preventive way on the leaves, help to avoid the onset of powdery mildew and downy mildew, fungal diseases that occur very commonly in the vine. The latter is a disease caused by the Plasmopara viticola fungus, which occurs when the spores of the fungus overwinter on fallen leaves on the ground. Unlike downy mildew, powdery mildew occurs when the buds open and appears as a whitish and powdery substance that occurs both on the leaves and on the clusters.
Harmful insects
Regarding the defense of the vineyard from harmful insects such as moth and moth, it is possible to resort to natural products. For this purpose, 2 products of vegetable origin can be used in advance. For example the Symbioethical SOFT SOAP (35 ml of product to be dissolved in 10 liters of water, every 7 days) in association with Symbioethical NEEM (50 ml of product to be dissolved in 10 liters of water, every 7 days). Symbioethical SOFT SOAP acts as a corroborant on vegetation in the presence of mites, aphids, whiteflies, etc. In particular, it enhances plant defenses against stress caused by insects and allows them to be overcome more easily and more quickly. In the presence of honeydew and fumaggini, the product allows an easy dissolution, restoring the normal brightness of the leaf plate. Symbioethical NEEM, on the other hand, has the function of increasing the effectiveness of treatments on all plants in the presence of parasites, thanks to the properties of the neem tree.
Intervention period
We recommend carrying out the interventions in the period from the vegetative restart in spring for the treatments with Symbioethical COPPER and PROPOLIS, from the flowering and fruit set as needed until the complete ripening for Symbioethical SOFT SOAP and NEEM.
It is advisable to suspend the use of the products about 20 days before harvesting.
